Four institutions, one site

The Citadel is home to four museums of very different character — from a grand narrative of the nation's history, through a thousand years of Polish arms, to intimate, moving sites of remembrance. You do not have to see them all at once; choose the ones that best match your interests and the time you have.

Which museum to choose?

First visit

Start with the Polish History Museum (temporary exhibitions and the deck) and add the Tenth Pavilion to feel two very different sides of this place.

With children

The Polish Army Museum makes the biggest impression — tanks, aircraft and uniforms. Introduce the harder exhibitions gradually, depending on age.

Military enthusiast

The Polish Army Museum covers a thousand years of arms — from the hussars to aviation. Allow it more time than the others.

History of repression

The Tenth Pavilion and the Katyn Museum (free entry) tell the story of the political prison and the Katyn massacre. Combine them with a walk to the Execution Gate.
