In brief — easy-to-read
Design principles
The portal is built to WCAG guidelines. The layout is mobile-first and keeps its content and functions from a width of 320 CSS px without horizontal scrolling, in both light and dark mode.
What we provide
- Semantic HTML with landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) and exactly one H1 per page.
- A “skip to content” link at the start of every page.
- Full keyboard support and a clearly visible focus indicator.
- All images have alternative text; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers (aria-hidden).
- ARIA where it helps: the FAQ accordion (aria-expanded), breadcrumbs and active navigation (aria-current), and descriptive labels for links and buttons.
- The site map is keyboard-accessible (labelled markers), and the museum comparison table is a focusable scroll region.
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences (prefers-reduced-motion) — animations are disabled.
- The content language is marked (lang attribute) with hreflang for the Polish and English versions.
